Archaeological sites
Greece has always drawn travelers, who were captivated with the charm of one of the oldest cultures in Europe and the western world. The Hellenistic art and architecture have been models for imitation for thousands of years.
Greece adhered to its religion and tradition, and they, in turn, maintained the Greek identity of the nation during hundreds of years of foreign occupation by Persians, Franks, Venetians, Turks and others.
Across the mainland and the islands lie hundreds of archaeological sites, reminders of the glorious past. Moreover, there is hardly any pasture, river or mountain that has not been consecrated due to its relation to a deity.
The survey in Greece took several years and 8 photography tours along 12,000 kilometers in the mainland, Peloponnese and the islands of Crete, Delos, Kos and Rhodes.
It was a wonderful journey in this mountainous land, with its welcoming and hospitable people.
